8 Firefighters Injured in Tulsa Fire

School Building Destroyed

AN EARLY MORNING FIRE IN TULSA, Oklahoma, Wednesday destroyed the Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences building and led to an "explosion" type event that injured eight firefighters.
The Tulsa FD units arrived on the scene at 5 am and found fire through the roof already.  About 15 minutes later and explosion occurred while they were working the fire and eight firefighters suffered burns on their hands and faces.  All were transported and are listed in fair condition.

Following the explosion all hose crews were pulled out of the building and the fire was fought defensively from there on.  The fire is out now, but crews are expected to remain on the scene all day for the hot spots.
